Subo the Survey Bot

Subo turns questions into a conversation. Instead of sending your members off to a web form, Subo asks one question at a time, right in Discord, and members answer where they already are. 15,000+ communities use it for feedback, polls, quizzes, applications, sign-ups, and event predictions.

What Subo does

Ask in conversation, not in a form wall
Subo posts an invite in a channel. Members click it and answer privately, one question at a time, in a friendly back-and-forth. It never DMs people out of nowhere. Completion rates go up because answering feels like chatting, not like homework.

Eight question types
Single choice, multiple choice, open text, numeric, rating (2 to 10 points, stars, numbers, or emoji), opinion scale (label every point for a Likert item), NPS, and ranking. Three more block types do the work around the questions: a content block says something without asking, an action block grants XP, a role, or an achievement mid-conversation, and a calculated block computes a value from earlier answers.

Four ways to build one
Build it by hand with /survey, describe your goal and let AI draft the whole thing with /draft, clone a ready-made template with /template, or use the full visual builder in the Subo web app. Developers can do all of it through the public REST API.

Honest answers, three privacy modes
Pick per project: Transparent (everyone sees individual answers), Semi-Private (only admins do), or Anonymous (nobody does, not even you). Anonymous is the default on a new server. Once an anonymous project has its first response the mode is locked, so answers collected under a promise stay under it.

Results you can actually read
/results gives aggregated, identifier-free results in Discord. The web app adds the full report, filters, segmentation, CSV export, and AI summaries that turn a pile of open-text answers into a clear read.

Rewards that bring people back
Members earn XP for answering. Reward completion, or specific answers, with XP, custom currency, roles, and achievements. All-time leaderboard on every plan, monthly leaderboard on Premium and up. Quizzes grade themselves, and prediction contests score members against the real outcome.

In Discord or on the web, your call
Run a project natively in Discord, share a members-only web link, or open it to anyone with a link, no Discord account required.

Skip logic
Route members past questions that do not apply to them. Available on every plan, including the free one.

Setting Subo up

1. Invite Subo to your server: https://subo.gg/invite
2. Run /settings once, to set the bot language, the default privacy mode, and your XP system.
3. Create something. /poll for a single question, /survey to build a multi-question Convo by hand, /draft to have AI write one from your goal, or /template to clone a ready-made one.
4. Open it with /start-stop. Subo posts the invite message in the channel you choose, and members start answering.
5. Read the results with /results, or open the web app with /dashboard for the full report, AI summaries, and export.

That is the whole setup. No web dashboard required to get going, no external account, no per-response cost on the free plan.

Commands are fully localized. On a German server they appear as /convo, /entwurf, /umfrage, /vorlage, /ergebnisse, /einstellungen, /bestenliste, and so on. Subo speaks 10 languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Russian, and Turkish.

Privacy

Members own their data. /profile lets any member view, export, update, or delete their own answers at any time, without asking an admin.

For developers

Subo has a public REST API (v1) that covers everything the bot does: create and open projects, generate a full survey script from a plain-text intent, pull paginated responses, trigger AI analysis, and subscribe to webhooks for project and response events. Auth is a scoped X-API-Key header, rate limits run 60 to 1,000 requests per minute by tier.
