Does any of this cost money?

The directory does not. Listing a bot, having it reviewed and collecting votes is free, and there is no tier you have to buy to be findable at all. The only thing we charge for is hosting: the free tier costs nothing with 48 hours of run time per start, and if you want the bot to run permanently there is a Pro tier at the monthly price shown on the hosting page. Featured placements will exist later; they are time-limited, always labelled “Sponsored”, and they do not reorder anything else.

How long does a review take?

We commit to 72 hours and are currently well under that, usually the same day. After you submit, automated checks run first, then a person invites your bot to a server and tries it out. Your place in the queue is shown in your dashboard.

What is the review actually checking?

A checklist that is the same for everyone. Does the bot come online and respond? Do at least three of the advertised core features work? Is there a help command someone can understand? Are the requested permissions proportionate? Does the description match what the bot really does? Does it avoid asking for tokens or payment details? If something fails, you get told which points.

My bot needs Administrator. Is that a dealbreaker?

Not a dealbreaker, but you have to justify it: name the feature that does not work without it. Without a justification the automated pre-check sends the submission back before a human ever sees it. In most cases individual permissions are enough, and a bot that only asks for those gets invited more often.

How often can I vote for a bot?

Every twelve hours, per bot. The cooldown is enforced server-side and reloading does not help. There is no video before it, no waiting timer, and no subscription that votes on your behalf.

What does a vote do?

Votes in the current month are the directory’s default sort order; on the first of the month the count starts over and the previous month is archived. Developers can also register a webhook and unlock something inside their bot whenever a vote comes in.

Can I change my listing afterwards?

Yes, under “Edit” in the dashboard. Descriptions, images, prefix and links go live immediately. The invite URL, the permission justification and the placement need approval again, because that is exactly what the reviewer clicked on. Your current version stays online until then.

Where does the server count come from?

From the bot itself. Developers report it through our API, and the dashboard hands you ready-made code for discord.js and discord.py. A bot that reports nothing shows zero servers, and that is a missing report, not a judgement.

What does the verified mark mean?

That we reviewed the bot and it has some reach. It is granted by hand, cannot be bought, and can be taken away again. It says nothing about whether Discord verified the application; that is a separate thing entirely.

I found a bot that does not belong here.

Every bot page has a report link. We look at every report, decide with a reason, and tell you what came of it. If you disagree with the decision, you can object.

Why list here instead of on the big directories?

Because this one is young. List now and you are on the front page instead of starting on page ten. That is arithmetic rather than a promise, and it stops being true once enough listings exist. Beyond that: fully bilingual listings, free voting, and a review done by a person.

Who runs Topbot.gg?

One person, based in Germany. Name, address and contact details are in the imprint, as German law requires. That also means there is no team answering around the clock, but the person answering made the decisions themselves.
